Lack

My recent work is about negative space. I am interested in what is not there. I am equally interested in what is there, and how the missing object or person defines what remains.

Ironically, removing a person or object from a picture makes that person or object more present. This exemplifies the real experience of losing a partner or grandparent and how the space they used to occupy in your life becomes almost its own entity. I use negative space to speak about lack, loss, desire and miscommunication in relationships.
